Safe Deposit Boxes

Protect What Matters Most.

At Pentucket Bank, we believe peace of mind starts with heart. That’s why our safe deposit boxes are designed to help you protect the important things in life—your documents, heirlooms, and irreplaceable memories—with confidence and care.

Our secure vault storage gives you an added layer of protection for items you don’t need every day but never want to risk losing.

Safe deposit boxes are ideal for storing:

  • Birth certificates, marriage licenses, and adoption papers
  • Property deeds and vehicle titles
  • Insurance policies and financial records
  • Family heirlooms and jewelry
  • Stock certificates and other valuables
  • Backup copies of important documents

Private access areas are available during regular banking hours, and our team is here to assist you whenever you visit.

A safe deposit box is a locked, secure container housed inside a bank vault. It provides protection for important documents and valuables from theft, fire, and other unexpected events.

Safe deposit boxes use a dual-key system. You retain one key, and the bank retains the second. Both are required to access the box, providing an added layer of security.

Before access is granted, bank staff will verify identification to ensure your items remain protected.

Only individuals listed as owners or authorized signers on the account may access the box and its contents.

These boxes are best suited for items you want to keep secure but don’t need regular access to, such as:

  • Legal and personal documents
  • Family keepsakes and heirlooms
  • Financial certificates and records
  • Jewelry and other valuables

We recommend avoiding storage of items you may need quickly or during emergencies, including:

  • Passports and primary identification
  • Original wills or healthcare directives
  • Powers of attorney documents
  • Cash

Because access is limited to branch hours, these items are better kept in a secure but immediately accessible location.

No. Safe deposit boxes are not FDIC- or DIF-insured. Customers may choose to purchase private insurance for additional protection of their stored items.
We do not recommend storing cash in a safe deposit box. Deposited funds in insured bank accounts provide greater protection and easier access when needed.
