ELDER ABUSE

Financial exploitation of older adults is becoming more and more common. Financial exploitation could involve an unscrupulous relative, acquaintance, or stranger benefiting from the misappropriation or misuse of the money belonging to an older person. This loss does not always have to be substantial, but is always defined in the context of the elder's financial situation. This form of abuse can be devastating, leaving older citizens unable to provide for their own needs.

Pentucket Bank will safeguard its elderly customers. Bank employees who suspect that an elderly customer is a victim of financial exploitation or exhibits symptoms of financial incompetence will take investigative action. Bank employees are also trained to recognize and report signs of mental/physical abuse and mental impairment.
